Ritchie or his record company chose to have the song removed. The Lionel Ritchie song "Running With The Night" (on the Flash-FM radio station) has been removed. This was basically a minor problem since it didn't affect getting 100% completion or cause other problems in the game. Also, they fixed a glitch which caused the stats for that mission to not show up until you played "Test Drive" (the mini-game with the Landstalker), and only with the same time as that mini-game. If you beat your best time again, the Haitians on motorcycles will appear an your next attempt. If you beat your best time, rain will appear on your next attempt. The second time around, the barrels will appear. The rain, Haitians on motorcycles, and barrels won't show up when you do it the first time. The "Trial By Dirt" mini-game has been altered to make it easier. When putting this package together, Rockstar Games took the time to get rid of the major glitches from the original version, as well make some other additional changes.
Original Double Pack (bar code #10425 27300, Red disc banner): This version can be found in the Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City combo package. Original Stand-Alone (bar code #10425 27145, Black disc banner): This is the version that came out on release day, October 29, 2002. The differences between each are listed below. I don't recommend this pathetic excuse of a remaster at all. There are three different versions of this game for the PlayStation 2, released in this order: Original Stand-Alone, Original Double Pack, and Haitian-Friendly (available as Stand-Alone or Double Pack). But by PS5 $60 standards, these games are the laughing stock of the videogame industry. Don't get me wrong, these games were great when they first released. It just encourages developers to make cheap and lazy cash grabs. This is why I hate when consumers value nostalgia over quality. And they had the audacity to take out the couch co-op multiplayer from GTA San Andreas. Charging $60 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. So once you beat the campaigns, there is not a reason to play this game again. This outrageous greed makes Activision and Ubisoft look like saints in comparison. Speaking of pre-orders, the greedy developers had the audacity to open the window for pre-orders without even showing any gameplay. The developers knew that if they were to call this horrendous game GTA Trilogy Remastered, then less people would be interested in pre-ordering this game. It should be up to us to decide which version we want to buy, not the developers. They decided to remove the classic versions of these games before even showcasing what this so-called "Definitive Edition" even looked like. Using vague terms such as "GTA V inspired controls" leaving us to speculate what that means. The developers that advertised this game were extremely greedy and anti-consumer. In what world does a PS5 Definitive edition has less content than the original PS2? Imagine charging a ridiculous price of $60 for less content. You can't take pictures and save them in the Gallery section like you could in the original. And you can't even play with another friend with a second controller, when you could do that in the original version. The pool minigame in GTA San Andreas has terrible physics.
The developers could have at least replaced those missing songs, but they were too greedy for that.
Makes sense, considering WWE 2K series is also owned by Take-Two. The characters look like they were created using WWE 2K20's character creation. The character models look even worse and more cartoonish than the original. That is very embarrassing for a videogame franchise that is owned by a company that made billions of dollars.
It looks like they hired the director of the Birdemic movie to create the rain effects. How is it possible to make a remaster worse than the original? Pathetic. The tail lights on cars don't even light up at night, when the original versions has that feature. The driving mechanics are beyond horrible. The gameplay is outdated and about the same as the originals. The physics are easily the worst physics I have ever seen in a PS5 game by far. I know this is a remaster, but I expect top notch quality in a $60 game. It doesn't even have the AAA quality to justify the $60. I know this is a remaster, but I expect This game is a huge steaming pile of garbage. This game is a huge steaming pile of garbage.
